After lunch in Midelt, the landscape transforms as we descend into the lush, palm-filled Ziz Valley. By late afternoon, the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi rise to greet you. You’ll settle into your Merzouga hotel for the night.
Today is dedicated to the heart of the Sahara. After breakfast, visit Khamlia village for a powerful performance of spiritual Gnawa music. Later, venture deeper into the desert to share mint tea with a nomadic family and learn about their resilient way of life. The afternoon’s highlight is an iconic camel trek into the vast Erg Chebbi dunes to witness an unforgettable sunset. You’ll arrive at a traditional Berber desert camp for a delicious dinner under a spectacular canopy of stars.
An early start is rewarded with a magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, camel trek back to the village to meet your driver. The journey continues to the magnificent Todra Gorge, a colossal canyon perfect for a short hike along its riverbed. Following lunch, we travel through the picturesque Dades Valley, famous for its winding roads and dramatic rock formations, before settling into your hotel nestled within the gorge.
After breakfast, your return journey to Fes offers more spectacular scenery. The route guides you back through the lush Ziz Valley and across the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a stop for lunch in Midelt.
